The Farmhouse
The farmhouse is located on the south and west facing slopes below the village of Starda at about 350 meters above sea level on the site of an ancient hermitage.
The 17th century farmhouse was abandoned in the 1950s yet retains its old features and now requires sympathetic restoration to create a lovely home set in a very quiet, secluded and rural environment.
The farmhouse is built in traditional Tuscany style with the former farm rooms (including the old stone flagged oxen stalls) on the ground floor and the old living accommodation on the first floor. This totals some fourteen rooms including a large double height cantina.
On the ground floor terrace is a small, unique and captivating little 3 level building once used for housing pigs, chickens, and a wood oven. A Modern two-car garage and remains of a small hayloft are included with the farmhouse.
