Dating from the 15th
Century the house has its origins as a monks farm of Vallambrosa
Monastery. Currently a family home, it
is also an attractive and popular wedding venue and agriturismo,

Many of the

are about a two-minute walk from the swimming pool. Both cottages
have independent central heating systems.
Guest Cottage 1 (70 sq m)
This converted old
stone built farm building has a double bedroom and bathroom
upstairs and downstairs has a large open plan living room and
kitchen with doors out onto a large stone paved terrace with
BBQ. The private terrace and the cottage are reached by a private
stone staircase from the car park.

Cottage 2 (90 sq m)
This cottage is slightly larger than the first cottage with
a good-sized family room upstairs with bathroom. Downstairs
is a large open plan living room and kitchen while the front
door leads to a private stone paved terrace shaded by oak trees.
Like the other cottage, the villa is finished in traditional
Tuscan style, with terracotta floors and oak beams.
Gardens and Grounds
The principle gardens
are to the west of the house, descending from the main terrace
and walled garden area which provides extensive outside eating
areas and shaded by a large walnut tree. A series of grass terraces
descend from the main terrace, one with the new 12 m x 6 m swimming
pool. To the east of the
house is predominately woodland with a mixture of oak and chestnut
tress and from which a number of natural springs originate.
The gardens have mixed colour rose beds, a herbaceous border,
and terracotta pots which give colour through the seasons. There is also a vegetable garden.
Location
This outstanding property stands
in an elevated position facing west with wonderful far reaching
views across the Arno and Sieve valleys below and above towards
the Appennini and the far Carrara Massa and a twinkling Florence
at night in the medium distance, just 25 kms away.
The
village of Pelago (3km) has
a number of shops, bars, post office, banks, and pharmacy. Pontassieve
(about 10 kms) is the nearest large town, which provide frequent
rail and bus access into Florence (about 25 km), Rome and other
large Italian cities.

are excellent from Florence airport (30 km), Pisa and Bologna
airports (90 km) providing regular flights to most European
capital cities. The surrounding area provides access to the
many historic towns of Tuscany.
